Louise’s passion for self-wellness is a long-standing core value. When she recognized a desire to support others in their wellness, Louise felt drawn to a career in health care and acquired a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops. After practicing community health nursing in a loving Secwepemc community, Louise obtained a Master of Social work, with a clinical practice focus, at the University of British Columbia in Kelowna. This enabled Louise, as a dually-registered and regulated health professional, to provide counselling informed by her nursing and clinical social work education.
Louise has practiced as a mental health clinician and counsellor, in both nursing and social work roles, in various community settings throughout BC’s Interior. This has informed her specialization in mental health; she can support clients who have a formal mental health diagnosis and clients who do not but are experiencing mental and/or emotional health concerns. Louise can perform mental health assessment; give a clinical impression; and provide and carry out a plan for treatment including monitoring of symptoms or experiences; support in maintaining stability or wellness; interdisciplinary collaborative care (with client’s consent); provision of resources, education, supported skill building and therapeutic processes.
Louise is also skilled in and has a passion for supporting clients in pursuing healthy lifestyle & goal setting; exploration of self, values & meaningfulness; functioning within relationships and effective communication; stress management and processing of grief, loss and trauma. Louise utilizes awareness of the mind-body connection, housed within the nervous system, to inform her practice of supporting the wellness of a person’s whole self. Louise can support clients in managing the emotional toll of chronic pain, illness or injuries; rehabilitation and recovery; and navigating shifts in functioning.
Louise is trained in and can offer Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). Louise’s practice is also informed by the modalities of Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), narrative therapy, expressive therapies (art, play, music, etc.), group therapy, family & couples therapies and sensorimotor therapy.
It is Louise’s priority to offer counselling that is trauma-informed, culturally safe, client-centred, evidence-based, empowering and strengths-focused. Louise feels privileged and grateful for the opportunity to have therapeutic relationship with SCP’s community and support its members in their processes and journeys.

Prairie transplant (Saskatoon & Lloydminster, SK) to orchard country, Kendra has worked in private physiotherapy practice since arriving in Lake Country in 2017. She was inspired to pursue physiotherapy as a profession in 2002 - her temporary role as Director of Dance at PEI’s College of Piping and Celtic Performing Arts of Canada afforded her the opportunity to see a physiotherapist for the first time. She was grateful to rehab a longstanding injury and still teaches, judges and jigs whenever possible.
Preceding her family’s relocation to the Okanagan, she practiced at Lloydminster Hospital in Inpatients and Outpatients. She obtained her Master of Physical Therapy (2015) and Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology (2006) from the University of Saskatchewan and is a Clinical Exercise Physiologist (CEP) with the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology (2006). Before completing her Masters, she worked as an Exercise Therapist in both chronic disease management and physiotherapy clinic settings. She also owned and operated a Pilates and Highland Dance studio for 10 years.
A life-long learner and professional development devotee, she is perpetually registered in courses that hone her therapy skills. She is a graduate of Diane Lee’s Integrated Systems Model (known by some as ‘ring theory’) as well as many courses in manual therapy, running analysis, taping and persistent pain management. She is pursuing her training through Acupuncture Canada and hopes to offer this to her clients in 2023. Her MPT research team’s work on accessibility of physiotherapy has spurred her to take on the volunteer role of secretary for the Global Health Division for the Canadian Physiotherapy Association.
Outside the clinic and studio, she enjoys trying new physical activities. As an adult she has learned to row, attending the 2016 Masters Rowing Championship in Regina with the Lloydminster Rowing Club. She also started playing hockey to impress her two hockey-crazed sons and their coach, (her husband) Ashley, and continues to don a Solid Gold team jersey every Sunday night. Typically, though, you’ll find her on a mountain bike trail or chasing her family down the ski slopes.
She has a passion for performing arts, physical activity, and sport, and respects the powerful synergy between physical participation and well-being at every age.
